I was nearly run over when a car full of trade union delegates backed out of the car park of a hotel that was nearly as cheap as mine. When I saw that it was Rodney driving I immediately forgave him – after all you could always rely on him to speak with passion and power about the people he represented and what the Labour Party was about.
He never let me down and I welcome this legacy.
